I write poetry, essays, and research-based work that moves between creativity, place, embodiment, and reflective practice.
Making Mischief is my ongoing writing practice.
It’s a home for essays, reflections, and experimental work.

Second Person
The only thing to bring
this frozen world to life
is an imagination.
Who has one? Do I?
Let me check.
Rata Gordon’s first poetry collection is both graceful and restless, sorrowful and witty. In poems about childhood, travelling, the body and the Earth, Gordon describes the freedom and disorientation we find in unfamilar places, and the way that our longings and imaginings animate our lives.
Selected responses:
“A delightful book.” - Anne Kennedy
“Fresh, layered and utterly captivating.” - Paula Green
“Wide-ranging and evocative of both the familiar and the new.” - Claire Mabey
Research Writing
I also write research-focused work in the fields of creative arts therapy, arts-based and trauma-informed research, and reflective practice. This includes selected excerpts from my Master’s dissertation.
