What is Open Floor?
Open Floor is a resource-based movement practice. We explore new ways of moving and responding to what is happening with intention and purpose. We learn to understand our habits and patterns for deeper insight and self-awareness. The more we embody different responses in our movements, the more resources we can call on to move through life with flexibility, resilience and ease.
Stirring music and clear guidance inspire dances of all kinds. There are no steps to learn and no way to do it wrong. Every body is welcome.
Research shows that people who dance grow more flexible, confident, capable of intimacy, and nimble in the face of change. When we move together, we grow communities that care for each other on and off the dance floor.
Sundays in Raglan
Put these upcoming dates in your calendar. All going well, we will be dancing in person in Raglan 10:45am-12:15pm on these days:
Sunday 26th September 2021
Sunday 17th October 2021 (note this is NOT the last Sunday of the month)
Sunday 29th November 2021
Classes cost $15 per class. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Unfortunately we have had to move from the Yoga Loft due to sound restrictions. Fortunately, we are able to move the lovely new Creative Space, upstairs at the Raglan Old School Art Centre at 5 Stewart Street, Raglan.
On Sundays, the main entrance to the Art Centre will be closed, so please enter round the back on the right side of the building next to the Clay Shed. I will put up some signs to direct you, in case you aren't familiar with the space.
In-person classes go ahead at Level 2.
If you are feeling at all unwell, please stay home and take care of yourself.
Because this is a dance class, masks will not be required during the class, as per the current guidelines. Please wear a mask in other parts of the building.
You will be required to sanitize your hands on arrival and to leave your details for contact tracing purposes.
